Grand View Hotel
Built in 1851, the spectacular Grand View Hotel (or ‘The GV‘ as it‘s known to locals) is much more than just a hotel. With its spectacular location overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay, it boasts superb facilities that make it perfect for stylish weddings – from intimate gatherings through to the grandest of occasions.
Al fresco wedding ceremonies at the Grand View Hotel take place under palm trees, overlooking Moreton Bay, with gentle bay breezes providing the perfect accompaniment to your vows. And if the weather isn‘t on your side, ceremonies can take place in an alternate location within the hotel grounds, from heritage rooms and bayview verandahs to garden marquees or quaint gazebos.
There‘s a dazzling choice of reception venues at the hotel. The Emu Point marquee, nestled in a delightful garden setting with two gazebos, is the ideal spot for an outdoor wedding reception for up to 150 guests (for a banquet) or 250 (for a cocktail-style celebration). Weatherproof features ensure guests enjoy year-round comfort while taking in the stunning views across Moreton Bay to the bay islands. The Verandah Restaurant has breathtaking views of Moreton Bay and North Stradbroke Island. With bay breezes in summer and cozy fireplaces in winter, it‘s an ideal venue for intimate celebrations and guests have the choice of booking the entire Verandah or a section, hosting as many as 150 guests or as few as 20.
With its elegant period décor and grand ambience, the Heritage Cleveland Room is the pride of the Grand View. French doors lead to a courtyard nestled in the shade of frangipani trees and a 160-year-old Heritage-listed poinciana tree. In this room, 60 people can be accommodated for a banquet, or up to 150 for a cocktail party.
The Grand View‘s passion for food means you and your guests will enjoy an unforgettable wedding feast that brings together the finest produce and freshest local seafood, matched with fine wines from an extensive collection.
